Privacy, email and family authorization

Last updated 26 August 2026. This is the clinic’s working notice for the website, forms and email. It is not a substitute for advice from Algerian or US counsel. CIC is an Algerian clinic; it is not a US HIPAA covered entity. Personal data is processed under Algerian Law 18-07 as amended and supplemented by Law 25-11 of 24 July 2025 (Ministry of Justice, Algeria).

Who we are

This notice covers the English, French and Arabic site, booking and contact forms, video-consult scheduling, and emails we send about those requests.

What we collect

From a booking or contact form we may collect name, email, phone, city, preferred language, who is writing (patient or family), patient name if you book for someone else, specialty, and a free-text message. Health details you type into the message are health data. We also store language preference in your browser (localStorage) and standard server logs (IP, browser) on the host.

Why we process it

  • To schedule a visit or video consult and reply to you (contract / pre-contract steps, and your consent under Law 18-07 as amended by Law 25-11).
  • Transactional email is limited to appointment time, a video-consult link, and service confirmations. Emails must not contain diagnoses, lab results, prescriptions or other health details.
  • To send clinic news only if you opt in. Direct marketing without prior consent is prohibited under Law 18-07 as amended by Law 25-11. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Health data and sharing with a relative require explicit authorization. The public form does not collect diagnoses. Paying for care does not, by itself, open the medical file.

Family authorization

A relative in the United States, Canada or France is a separate person. We do not send diagnoses, prescriptions or visit notes to family until the patient (or a legal representative) has authorized it. You may still request a booking; we will ask the patient before any medical detail is shared. If you are not authorized, do not send another person’s health information in the form beyond what is needed to identify them for an appointment.

Telehealth

A video consult is a scheduled clinical appointment, not an emergency service. It is not for chest pain, stroke signs, severe breathing difficulty, heavy bleeding, or a child who looks gravely ill. Use local emergency numbers (Algeria SAMU / 14; US and Canada 911; France 15). Joining a call as family requires authorization. Do not record the session unless the clinic agrees in writing.

Email and Amazon SES

Until Amazon SES production access is approved, booking notices are sent through the clinic’s cPanel mailbox to contact@ciconstantine.com. SES, when live, will send only appointment time, video-consult links and service confirmations — never diagnoses, results or other sensitive medical content. Amazon may process those messages in AWS regions, including the United States. Every commercial or marketing email will include this postal address and a working unsubscribe. We honor opt-out as soon as practicable and in any case within two business days. We do not buy email lists. Transactional mail about a booking you requested is not a newsletter; marketing is optional and off by default.

Cookies

This static site does not currently set advertising cookies. Language choice is stored locally on your device. The hosting server may log technical data needed to operate the site. If we add analytics later, this section will be updated before they run.

Transfers and processors

The clinic is in Algeria. Forms and mail may be processed by the website host and by AWS (SES). Cross-border transfer of personal data is limited to what those services need. Sensitive health data is processed for care and scheduling, with the consents on the form, and is not used for advertising.

Your rights

Under Law 18-07 as amended and supplemented by Law 25-11 of 24 July 2025 you may access, rectify, object, and withdraw consent. For US residents, CAN-SPAM requires a postal address and an opt-out on commercial email; we provide both. For people in the EEA/UK or Canada we will also consider GDPR / PIPEDA requests (access, erasure where applicable) when you write to us. We do not sell personal information. CIC does not claim HIPAA certification on this site.

How long we keep data

Booking requests are kept as long as needed to schedule care and meet medical-record and accounting duties under Algerian law, then deleted or archived. Marketing lists are kept until you unsubscribe. Server logs are kept only as long as the host requires for security.
